Day 63

Tomorrow is Tara’s chemotherapy day. I’ll drop her off a little after 7 am for blood work then she is on her own. We just watched a YouTube video of a chemo patient lip synching to “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. Tara is jacked up ready for the day. Go Tara!

The days are getting a bit easier. She is really ready to be done with the shingles, which have surprised us both in how bad they can be. Hats off to those of you who have dealt with that in the past. I have a new respect for you.

My sister has been here this week from Santa Fe. It has been a treat to spend time with her and have her help. Along with all the other fun things that an Aunt can do, she has helped Mic and Essie with their cello, jumped on the trampoline with Andrean and Jenna, and got in the treehouse with Lewis. Too fun.

  1. Praying for your day tomorrow, Tara. When I was a child, tears and nausea often came before the needle ever reached my arm, but I was only a kid doing what I supposed to do, and nobody depended on me. I can’t imagine going through those days as a parent and a spouse. I pray for God’s abundant grace to sustain you. Thank you for sharing your journey; my faith has been challenged and strengthened as a result of your continued trust in God’s goodness.

  2. Tara, I just want you to know I am praying for you and would love to take you to coffee soon! Enjoy the kids today, I know you are loving the ability to have them all home during Springbreak. Hugs!

Also, please put a pin on Sanibel Island, Florida because we have been praying for you while on vacation!

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:4 (New Living Translation)
