Over the last few days I have heard scripture that has come alive and words from my woman (if you allow me to call Tara that) that have amazed me. The depth of her faith and character don’t surprise me as I have lived with her for quite some time. Its the consistency in this time that is so amazing. The following are phrases that have struck me as life-changing from Him and her.
HE SAID: “Don’t be anxious about your life, as to what you should eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”
SHE SAID: “So much for wanting a young body. Now I just want a body.” “It is humbling to ask someone for pregnancy clothes again.” “God, I trust you.”
HE SAID: “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me, yet not My will but Yours be done.”
SHE SAID: “I don’t want to go through this. It was not what we had planned. But this is my time, a cup I must bear and I am okay with it, whatever the outcome.”
HE SAID: “…the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words….And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.”
SHE SAID: “I don’t even know how to pray because it hurts my heart so bad. But I trust that God will take care of me.”
Now I like the scriptures that she is reminded of and I too claim them. However, I am more inclined right now to rally around the scriptures that refer to battle and spiritual warfare and defeating the enemy. We are up for a battle and I fully expect us to win. Pray with us for victory over cancer and healing in Tara’s body. Pray for wisdom for the doctors on Monday as they plot the exact course.
I was so comforted to be able to give you hugs and see your face last night. I know there’s a prayer vigil today which I won’t be able to attend because I’ll be with the kids and their skiing today, but Tracy means courageous warrior and I’ll be in prayer with you guys all along knowing that The Lord will never leave us or forsake us. I thank The Lord for His Word every day. I want to share that I tried to recall when I first met you and it was the two of you working together in Anthony’s nursery at first B. It was great to think of that and the two of you doing that together. Just like now …doing this together, one step at a time. Praying continually, Tracy
Tara, your wisdom and humility are exactly what has made you a mentor to me over the years. Your “she saids” don’t surprise me a bit. And Jay – you guys have been preparing for battle your whole life, as you have been hiding His words in your heart and living for Him. You are equipped and have an army of warriors by your side! We love you.
We love your precious family and we are praying for each of you.
You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. (Psalm 119:114)
Praying without ceasing! We love you guys so much!
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Praying for your whole family…. God is with us every step of the way he never leaves your side. You have a wonderful family and a great support system my prayers are with you all

Father, when I think of the wisdom and scope of Your plan I fall down on my knees and pray to You, the Father of all Your great family—many of our loved ones already in heaven and many down here on earth—that out of Your glorious, unlimited resources You will give your God given children the mighty inner strengthening of Your Holy Spirit. Help us to make Christ more and more at home in our hearts, living within us as we trust in you. Help Tara to make herr roots go down deep into the soil of Your marvelous love; and make her feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high Your love really is; and help Tara and her family to experience this love. And so at last, fill the Maier family with You, now and forever, for it is in your Son Jesus Christ I pray all these things Amen
The Walks are praying hard! We love you guys. We are here for you in whatever way we can be, but most importantly through prayer!!
Praying for you and your family!! I hope Mark has shared the words of the song Sovreign with you. It’s what you already know but it’s always nice to see it! We’re trusting God in this for you, asking and believing!!
Mark 11:24!
If I could take the burden of this illness for you, I would. My heart and my prayers are ever before God on your behalf. I have always enjoyed talking with you and seeing the face of Jesus shine through your eyes and actions. You have ministered to me many times over, not even knowing. I can’t help much duting the week, but I am available on the weekends to do whatever you need done – transport children to activities, make food, do laundry. God is in control of the circumstances of our lives at all times, even when we can’t see it. I know you see with eyes of faith and my faith joins with yours for complete healing and restoration. May your lives be a testimony to many unsaved during this journey God has given you. I love you all!
Jay and Tara and gang. The Millers from Wisconsin are with you in prayer and have extended our prayer chain to our prayer warriors as well. Additionally we have Women’s Aglow involved to raise many many voices to heaven. We love you and missed seeing you this summer at family camp and wish you Gods strength, peace and healing.
